Reporting to the District Program Manager and working within the Cariboo district, the position is responsible for making recommendations for approval of subdivision proposals submitted by developers, engineers and the general public. The position approves land use applications and includes answering complex questions, one-on-one client interaction/negotiations, conducting site inspections, providing expert technical advice in evaluating the potential impact of proposed developments/land use applications and reviewing appeals as well as recommending and initiating action to rectify identified problems and concerns.

Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:





- Grade 12 or equivalent.

- Five years experience working in an office environment.

- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.





Preference may be given to applicants with the following:





- A Diploma or Degree in a related discipline (ie. Geography, Land Use Planning or Environmental Science.

- Experience working and training as a Development Services Technician OR in the area of land use planning and development, civil engineering, surveying, highway engineering, transportation engineering, urban land economics, or site planning.

- Post-secondary training in mathematics, surveying, highway engineering, transportation engineering, urban land economics, site planning, or human relations.

- Experience in customer service, and negotiation.
