The Role

Corporate Manager, HR is a partner to build relationships with the business, a trusted advisor, a driver in translating business needs into viable employee focused outcomes for our North American Corporate functions. The position will work with management and teams for the success and profitability of the business by developing and implementing short and long-term strategies, plans, policies, and programs to support the business objectives.

Reporting to the Vice President HR, the position leads human resources activities for Plasman Headquarters, Technical Center, Sales and Engineering offices. Key accountabilities in this role include:

- Work closely with the VP HR to determine how our global strategy impacts the corporate management team and plan a course to enhance the business success through new and innovating HR programs.

- Act as an advisor to leaders by providing guidance and/or coaching on sensitive confidential and complex HR issues and provide strategic advice and counsel including coaching, leadership development, performance management and employee relations.

- Serve as a subject matter expert on the Plasman organizational structure, jobs and job content/requirements and perform primary job evaluation of SGA positions for job classifications and compensation comparators.

- Work on various initiatives to drive leadership and cultural alignment across all corporate functions within North America.

- Act as a member of the larger HR team for Plasman Group, providing input and direction on overall HR issues and represent the views of the business functions in which they are partnered with.

- Maintain an awareness of emerging trends and best practices in HR and liaison with HR peers, both within and outside of Plasman to ensure policies and procedures stay current and market competitive.

- Serve as a key resource for the global talent review process, head-count management, and succession planning for the team. Develop strategies for developing talent, succession planning, and talent acquisition for key leadership positions.

- Collaborate with other HR managers and functional partners to execute human resources strategies and annual initiatives (compensation, benefits, employee engagement, performance management and training & development) to meet business objectives and support future business growth.

- Serve as a subject matter expert for employment laws and regulations.


- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or similar field, or relevant work experience


- A minimum of 7-10 years experience in Human Resources.

- Certified Human Resources Professional designation (CHRP) preferred.

- Exposure to HR best practices in Talent Acquisition, Organizational Change, Performance Effectiveness and Engagement, Employee Relations.

- Experience within a global organization would be considered an asset.

- HR professional with above average business acumen to align both business objectives and HR strategies with company goals to maximize shareholder value.

- Strong ability to evaluate options/alternatives and develop solutions/recommendations for complex and multi-dimensional problems/issues.

- Strong team focus to work closely with the corporate leaders and HR peers.

- Adept at building and managing relationships effectively and be able to gain the confidence of business leaders quickly.

- Effective communication skills both verbally and orally. Organizational and interpersonal skills with a strategic logical approach.
