We are currently seeking an Agent for our Member Service Centre (MSC).

Our Agents are responsible for providing superior service delivery on the telephone, presenting a positive pleasant public image, providing fast, efficient service, identifying member needs and offering appropriate products and services.



What you’ll do:



Service Delivery



- Respond to inquiries and provide assistance and information on a full range of credit union products and services, including lines of credit, loans, term deposits, etc.

- Fill customer initial request for service and uncover existing or future needs through service review or proactive interactions.

- Provide account information to customers including balances, updates, cheque orders, statements, etc.

- Resolve routine concerns with customer accounts.

- Complete and forward follow-up documentation to appropriate branch/department.

- Complete service requests through opening of personal or business accounts, setting up new term deposits, retirement savings plans, education savings plans, travelers’ cheques, etc.

- Provide the appropriate tools and services to enable the customer to operate their account i.e. ATM cards, telephone banking, internet banking, night deposit, direct deposits, etc.

- Overcome objections and offer solutions.

- Advise customers on products and services to meet their needs.

- Problem solve customer concerns and complaints.

- Refer customers to other departments or branch locations, as needed.

- Handle referrals from other branches/departments.



Sales



- Achieve annual sales and service goals.

- Conduct outbound telemarketing sales efforts as directed.

- Participate in all sales meetings.

- Develop daily and weekly plans and follow up on them.

- Contact customers on product renewals, i.e. terms, retirement savings plans and loan re-advances.

- Proactively take part in campaigns, specific marketing initiatives or promotions.



Lines of Credit/Loans



- Complete an initial loan interview with the customer, establish the purpose of the loan and request any required documentation (T4, home assessment, investment statements, etc.).

- Perform credit checks, employment verifications, net worth statements, debt servicing and makes recommendation for approval or decline of the loan to management, as required.

- Communicate loan decision to customer along with the rationale.

- Advise customer when loan is granted and make arrangements for signing documents and disbursing of funds.



Security



- Adhere to Centre security policies and procedures.

- Keep up to date with updates to security processes.



Administrative Functions



- Handle postdated and pending items.

- Ensure effective use of wrap time to complete paperwork.



What you bring:



Experience



- Minimum 1 year experience within a financial services environment with exposure to retail lending or deposits or 1 year call centre experience.



Competencies



- Proven sales and service ability.

- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people.

- Good command of verbal and written language.

- Proven skills servicing and selling on the telephone.

- Strong ability to multi-task in a technology-driven environment.

- Good organization and time management skills as related to this position.

- Detailed knowledge of deposit related products personal lending and lines of credit.

- Working knowledge and comfort level with various computer software programs i.e. Word and Excel.
