The Safety Watch position is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals that are new to the safety industry, are interested in casual, project-based work throughout the year,

and are looking for great pay.





The primary responsibility of the Safety Watch role is focus on safety in the vicinity under his/her surveillance including occasional visitors as well as workers assigned to the worksite.



Safety Watch personnel duties include (but are not limited to):



- Setting up, inspecting and maintaining safety equipment



- Monitoring and backing up all personnel under breathing air by having function tested SCBA readily available for use



- Ensuring all incidents are reported and investigated immediately



- Participating in all pre-job meetings with an emphasis on specific worksite hazards



- Knowing the whereabouts of all safety equipment: Fire Extinguishers/Pull Stations, Eye Wash Stations, Shower Units, First Aid Room(s), Muster Locations, Breathing Apparatuses, etc.





HSE has several opportunities in Calgary, Red Deer, Fort Saskatchewan & Fort McMurray. Please read the information for each Stations specific requirements.





Calgary – Orientation August 31 to Sept 4 (Experienced or Entry Level)



Required certificates include:



- Standard First Aid Level C

- ESC H2S Alive

- CSO (Common Safety Orientation)

- CSTS 2020





Red Deer – Orientation August 31 to Sept 4 (Experienced or Entry Level)



Required certificates include:



- Standard First Aid Level C

- ESC H2S Alive

- CSO (Common Safety Orientation)

- CSTS 2020





Fort Saskatchewan – OSSA Orientation August 31 to September 4 (Experienced or Entry Level)



Required certificates include:



- Standard First Aid Level C

- ESC H2S Alive

- CSO (Common Safety Orientation)

- CSTS 2020

- OSSA Fall Protection

- OSSA Confined Space





**Our Fort Saskatchewan Station’s SW orientation is separate from the other orientations. The layout for this orientation is as follows:



- Monday/Tuesday – Internal Training / Onboarding Process (Must attend no matter which certificates you have)

- Wednesday – OSSA Fall Protection (Cost to Course)

- Thursday – OSSA Confined Space Entry (Cost to Course)

- Friday – ESC H2S Alive (Cost to Course)



If you already have the OSSA courses, you will only need to join on Monday & Tuesday. While HSE does provide training for OSSA Fall Protection & OSSA Confined Space for a cost, it is not mandatory that you take these courses through HSE if they are available to you elsewhere. If you would like to join in on these courses, please indicate this on your application.**





Fort McMurray – No Orientation (Experienced Only Non-Local or Entry Level Local to Fort McMurray)



Required certificates include:



- Standard First Aid Level C

- ESC H2S Alive

- CSO (Common Safety Orientation)

- CSTS 2020

- OSSA Fire Watch

- OSSA Fall Protection

- OSSA Confined Space

- RPE Training (4 Hour Course)



Flights will be provided out of Edmonton and Calgary only. Anticipated start date for this project is September 15th. Previous to this date, candidates will have to come to the Red Deer or Fort McMurray Station to go through the onboarding process completing their Pre-Employment Testing/Onboarding which includes a Drug & Alcohol Screen, Audiogram, Respiratory Mask Fittings & a Safety Watch Audit.





FOR ALL AREAS



- A valid, unrestricted Driver's Licence (Please note, a valid licence does not include a Learner's Permit or Graduated Licence (GDL)) is considered an asset.

- Successful completion of Pre-Employment testing which includes a Drug & Alcohol Test, Audiogram and Respiratory Mask Fittings (HSE provided)

- Work Visa (if applicable)

- Excellent comprehension and communication skills

- Physically capable of working in adverse environments and conditions
