Job Title: Product Engineer – Automotive Design Convergence
Location: Windsor, Canada
Duration: 12 Months (Contract | Potential Extension)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Product Engineer (Intermediate) to support automotive design convergence initiatives. In this role, you will act as a Design Convergence Lead (DCL), driving the development and implementation of interior and exterior vehicle build requirements from concept through tooling kickoff.
This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role where you will collaborate with design, engineering, quality, and supplier teams to ensure best-in-class fit, finish, and perceived quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead cross-functional collaboration across product design, engineering, quality, and external suppliers
Define and converge gap and flush engineering requirements for vehicle interiors and exteriors
Analyze CAD data and perform tolerance stack-up assessments
Apply automotive perceived quality and design standards to ensure product excellence
Ensure alignment with customer audit requirements and quality benchmarks
Track and manage project deliverables, timelines, and KPIs
Identify risks and proactively escalate critical issues
Support design validation from concept phase through tooling kickoff
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
3–6 years of experience in automotive product engineering or design convergence
Robust experience with CAD analysis and tolerance stack-up
Understanding of gap & flush, fit & finish, and perceived quality standards
Experience working in a cross-functional engineering setting
Solid problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with automotive OEM standards (e.g., Stellantis or similar)
Familiarity with customer audit processes
Exposure to vehicle interior and exterior systems
