This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Clerk contributes to the effective operation of the Psychiatric Short Stay unit. Following hospital policy and procedures, the Clerk is responsible for maintaining the patient charts, filing of lab reports, coordination of patient appointments, patient registration, compiling monthly statistics , scheduling of staff and submission of payroll.
• Grade XII plus one year related experience or graduate of recognized one year related business/clerical program
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of STAR, PHS and Time Capture preferred
• Ability to maintain a calm demeanor during stressful situations
• Medical Terminology preferred
• Mental Health experience preferred
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Organization and multi-tasking skills
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
