Electrical Engineering Technologist
Location: Remote (Ontario, Canada)
Contract Term: 6 months contract with potential for extension

In this Electrical Engineering position, you will combine technical expertise with project coordination; drafting ready-to-build installation plans, securing permits and approvals, and collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and installers to ensure every project runs seamlessly from design through construction. Key responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

Drafting & Project Management:

- Review project scopes and produce finalized, ready-to-build installation plans.




- Draft electrical line diagrams and solar panel layouts in AutoCAD.
- Interact with utilities, building authorities, and clients to secure all required project approvals, including interfacing with structural engineers and municipal building departments for permits.
- Work with our network of site inspectors to obtain site photos and measurements, provide onboarding and training support, and ensure inspection packages are accurate and complete to keep projects moving efficiently through the pipeline.

Stakeholder Coordination:

- Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and installers to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with all stakeholders and internal team members as necessary.

Administrative & Technical:

- Maintain accurate project records, including client files, permit fees, and design plans.
- Update customer relationship portals to ensure data integrity.
- Commit to becoming a technical expert on our products and services.
- Upload new systems to monitoring platforms upon project completion
- Monitor and manage our fleet of customer monitoring profiles.
- Respond to system alerts and service requests with preliminary troubleshooting.
- Schedule service calls as required.

Required Qualifications:

- 2–4 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, or Technical Project Management.
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or equivalent technical experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting electrical diagrams.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and related design principles.




- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in project management and familiarity with the solar industry are considered strong assets.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in the solar energy industry or other renewable energy systems.
- Hands-on, in-field experience with solar installations.
- Familiarity with municipal permitting processes and building codes.
- Project management experience or familiarity with project management tools.

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
