Civil Superintendent

Prairie North Const. Ltd. is recruiting for the role of Civil – Superintendent for Various projects in Alberta.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished Superintendent with a history of successfully delivering large multi-disciplinary heavy civil projects to join our team.

- Previous experience running all types of large earth moving equipment is an asset
- Experience working in Earthworks/Road projects is an asset
- 5 years+ superintendent experience working on heavy civil projects
- Effective communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form.
- Provides clear direction to team members and distributes workload to capitalize on individual and group strengths while ensuring balanced exposure to work experience and development opportunities.
- Work with respective foremen to plan work in an efficient and effective order, optimize daily production in a safe and timely manner. Coordinating of personnel and equipment resources.
- Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project. Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance of PNCL HS&E; standards, applicable OH&S; Acts, regulations and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project.
- Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings and applicable building codes and ensures that quality standards are maintained.

maintains and drives the construction schedule in conjunction with the project leaders to ensure budgets and timelines are met
- Proactively identifying, addressing, and resolving issues and problems as or before they occur
- Ensures site safety and environmental standards are met or exceeded.
- Achieves project schedule commitments within the financial targets.
- Liaise with customers, engineers and project managers in an effective, qualified and respectful manner
- Liaise with the Human Resource department on a variety of employee related issues, including employee development, recruitment, benefits, training, terminations, and investigations
- Ensure paperwork and employee timesheets are completed properly and submitted on time
- Previous experience running all types of large earth moving equipment is an asset
- Experience working in Earthworks/Road projects is an asset
- 5 years+ superintendent experience working on heavy civil projects
- Effective communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal, written and electronic form.
