The Accessible Learning Advisor has a coordinating role in planning/participating in CAL events and workshops, creating and maintaining accessibility resources for faculty and staff, and orientation and outreach events. The incumbent represents the College in collaboration with community partners and external accessibility committees, advocating for best practices in educational accessibility and inclusion.

**Duties and Responsibilities:*** Provides individualized academic accommodation advising and learning strategy support to students with disabilities to promote access, inclusion, and academic success* Reviews disability
-related documentation and develop, implement, and maintain Letters of Accommodation in collaboration with students, faculty, and internal partners* Consults with faculty and staff to support effective and consistent implementation of academic accommodations across classroom, laboratory, online, and placement settings* Supports students in developing self-advocacy skills, understanding functional limitations, and accessing appropriate academic, technological, and financial supports* Delivers one-on-one and group learning strategies programming to enhance students’ academic performance, organization, and self-regulation skills* Coordinates referrals to counselling services, assistive technology, financial aid, and external assessment professionals as required* Maintains accurate, confidential case records and documentation in accordance with privacy legislation and college policies* Contributes to outreach, transition planning, and recruitment activities, including orientation events, workshops, and information sessions* Develops and delivers accessibility‑related workshops and resources for students, faculty, and staff* Collaborates with internal departments and external community partners to support student success and promote accessible learning environments* Performs other related duties in support of the Centre for Accessible Learning and institutional priorities* Other duties as assigned.* Minimum of five (5)



years in:* Post-secondary training and experience working within a medical model interpreting medical documentation and applying functional limitation information to inform academic accommodation planning within a non-clinical accessibility advising role.* Experience working with adults with disabilities in a clinical and/or post-secondary educational setting where accommodation plans were created.* Knowledge of social and medical models of disability support.* Demonstrated knowledge of psychosocial and academic aspects of disability.* Effective communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to facilitate teamwork and maintain working relationships with a wide range of students, colleagues, stakeholders, and community members.* Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.* Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and case law related to accessibility and human rights (AODA, OHRC, HRTO, etc.)* Knowledge of effective learning and compensatory strategies for students with disabilities. Minimum four (4) year degree or equivalent: Education, psychology, social work, disability studies or equivalent* Clearly outline how you meet each of the required qualifications listed in the job posting;
