Research Assistants are students, normally in a University of Winnipeg undergraduate program, employed to assist with tasks related to research in the student’s area of study. Work is performed within defined guidelines and under supervision of a more senior researcher or faculty member.

Position Overview

The Research Assistant will work to develop, edit, create images and translate strategies (French) in literacy, numeracy and wellness for parents and their young children. French language skills required. Graphic arts abilities and website design skills are an asset. Applicable candidate should have experience with text editing as well as experience working with young children


- Strategy creation using evidence based sources

- Supervision of ToyBox student networks

- Graphics design of strategies

- Translation abilities (to French)

- Awareness of cultural and lifestyle sensitivities

- Website design


- Enrolled in undergraduate postsecondary in course work supporting editing/writing/research development.

- Overall GPA of 4.0

- Fluent (especially technical writing) in English and French languages

- Experience with children

- Computer skills (word processing, web design)

- Academic literature review

- Graphics skills

- Knowledge of Manitoba lifestyles and culture

The period of work will be from March 21 - August 31, 2020 and the estimated total hours of work will be approximately 100 HOURS.
