Job Description: The Telecom Transport Program Manager will, as part of a team, drive the design and development of the backhaul infrastructure for a standalone 5G wireless network. Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories: • Design, optimize, and procure a microwave and fiber transport network to support a 5G wireless network. • Manage business relationships with telecom providers including writing RFPs, evaluating responses and negotiation. • Evaluate different types of telecom services to include lit and dark fiber and be able to provide cost-benefit recommendations. • Manage and evaluate price quotes for new and replacement telecom services. • Coordinate resources to support the day-to-day administration,
installation, upgrade and migration of telecommunication services. • Be the Subject Matter Expert and provide knowledge of existing network systems technologies and wireless industry equipment options in the realms of Microwave, Fiber, and Ethernet Transport systems. The successful Program Manager will have the following: • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and six years of related experience; or at least ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Wireless industry experience is preferred. • Technical proficiency in telecommunications technology and related systems (e.g. MPLS, OTN, DWDM, Ethernet, physical layer cable systems) – high level of technical knowledge is preferred. • Visio & Google Earth proficiency with an understanding of KMZ files. • Experience presenting and working with all levels of employees; ability to work closely with the network engineering organization. • Demonstrated ability to learn the business and technical flow of complex systems and their dependencies. • Financial acumen with knowledge of Pro-forma development and budget development/tracking required. • Flexible, innovative and the ability to manage responsibilities and priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.
