Job Description: We currently have an opening for a permanent, full-time Quality Assurance Technician to join our Planning & Pricing team, this role reports directly to the Planning & Pricing Manager. This position is based out of our location in Richmond, BC. Job responsibilities for this position: Proactively maintain a safe working environment, focusing on prevention and ensuring continued compliance with quality and food safe programs. Maintain complete and accurate records of QA documents. Verify production process records and follow up with operators daily. Document issues and concerns for the Senior Leadership Team. Maintain complete inventory record of hold and release program.
Ensure high GMP standards through daily plant GMP audits; communicate deficiencies to quality manager; establish reports and trends of GMP audit. Assist in implementing Quality/Food Safety Programs and Standard Operating Procedures; adhering to quality programs and standards. Assist in handling customer complaints. Review SOPs as per management program. Manage non-conformance records (NCR) by issuing NCR’s and corrective actions. Assist in auditing our products and programs to ensure compliance with all company and customer standards. Assist in employees training. Qualifications and requirements for the position: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college with specialization in Food Science considered an asset. Knowledge of and experience with GMP, HACCP, and Global Food Safety Initiative Programs (GFSI – SQF, BRC etc.) and/or ISO. QA/QC experience in manufacturing, packaging, and/or distribution. Previous experience in the food industry an asset. Works well independently and as part of a team. Takes direction well and learns quickly. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills. Demonstrates analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize amidst the pressure of tight deadlines. Ability to handle all enquiries in a timely and efficient manner. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Highly detail oriented. Accountable and reliable.
