Overview
MAP Investco is a family-owned investment office focused on long-term, direct investments in software, data, and information services businesses, with a particular emphasis on automotive and transportation verticals. We also invest indirectly in various other investments. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Investment Associate to support investment operations, pipeline management, and portfolio analytics across the full investment lifecycle.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants broad exposure to sourcing, diligence, financial modeling, investment committee processes, and portfolio monitoring within a hands-on, entrepreneurial investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
Investment Operations & Pipeline Management
- Maintain and manage investment pipeline within Salesforce (or equivalent CRM).
- Ensure accurate, timely tracking of companies reviewed, diligence status, and outcomes.
- Develop reporting dashboards to provide visibility into sourcing activity, pipeline health, and deal velocity.
- Help drive CRM adoption and consistent usage across the investment team.
Investment Committee Support
- Take detailed notes during investment committee meetings and circulate action items.
- Assist in preparing Investment Review and Investment Committee materials, including:
- Initial screening memos.
- Detailed diligence summaries.
- Final investment committee reports.
- Work with Investment Leads to refine materials and ensure consistency of format and quality.
Financial Modeling & Analysis
- Build and maintain financial models (3-statement, operating models, scenarios, sensitivities).
- Support valuation analysis and return modeling.
- Perform ad-hoc analytical work such as market sizing, cohort analysis,
or unit economics.
Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting
- Review periodic financial statements and reporting from portfolio companies.
- Translate financial and operational data into concise summaries for the investment team.
- Update portfolio company records in CRM and/or portfolio platforms.
- Work with the Investment Committee to evaluate portfolio monitoring / reporting software and assist with the implementation of any selected software.
Miscellaneous & Ad-Hoc Support
- Provide analytical and research support to senior team members as needed.
- Assist with special projects including market research, benchmarking, and strategic analysis.
- Provide ongoing support to portfolio companies, aiding with business plan development, company presentations, operational or other miscellaneous tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, consulting, transaction advisory, private equity, venture capital, or similar analytical role.
- Solid Excel / financial modeling skills.
- Strong PowerPoint/ presentation building skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar).
- Exposure to software / SaaS or data-driven businesses.
- Familiarity with accounting and financial statements.
- Experience preparing investment memos or presentations.
