Lafarge is seeking a Payroll Coordinator. The incumbent will be responsible for the efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of time and attendance information. This position monitors the processing of time capture and payroll information and provides support to management and line supervision on payroll issues. The Payroll Coordinator is also a key point of contact for Mylife and the Regional HR department.


- Support managers and field staff on payroll policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the time entry and approval process for the Winnipeg market.
- Process employee changes in Workday such as new hires, rate changes, terminations, and changes to employee information.
- Manage all information applicable to hourly employee personnel files.
- Track employee vacation pay increases.
- Act as the first point of contact for Mylife on employee setup or pay issues.
- Perform manual tracking of non system payroll information.
- Collect and track employee benefit payments while on layoff.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to safety policies in all work environments.


Education and Experience:

- Minimum five (5) years’ related work experience in a payroll function.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
- Kronos and Workday experience is an asset.
- Experience dealing with union and non-union multi-company payroll environments.
- Experience and knowledge of applicable provincial labour law.

Knowledge and Skills:

- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Detail orientated and accuracy with numbers.
- Maintain an organized and structured record keeping environment.

Pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol testing and a criminal record check may be required.
