Job Description

Crescent Point Energy is a leading North American oil producer focused on the development of high-return resource plays. Based in Calgary, Alberta, we aim to enhance shareholder returns by cost-effectively growing our significant asset base in the Viewfield Bakken, Shaunavon, Flat Lake, and East Shale Duvernay plays.

Crescent Point is currently seeking to fill the following position:

Job Title: Team Lead, Pipeline Integrity

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Reports to: Manager, Asset Integrity and Field Facility Engineering

The following will provide you with basic guidelines as to the duties required of this position.


The Team Lead will be responsible for the development and leadership of assigned processes that steward the Pipeline Integrity Management plan. This role will provide support and guidance in pipeline integrity matters to Engineering, Development and Operational stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities & Activities:

- Provide leadership in helping Operations and Production Engineering achieve the goals outlined in the Corporate Pipeline Integrity Management Manual
- Oversee a current and accurate inventory of pipelines and license information
- Oversee risk assessments of all oil, gas and water pipeline systems and update them regularly
- Provide technical support to Operations personnel with respect to the development, implementation, and management of internal/external pipeline corrosion prevention programs
- Provide program design and support for pipeline discontinuation and abandonment programs
- Oversee field pipeline corrosion chemical programs and report on performance
- Initiate and coordinate pipeline inspection vendors for in-line inspection tools, non-destructive examination (NDE) and corrosion surveys
- Oversee technical support for pipeline repairs
- Act as corporate technical liaison for pipeline failure analysis investigations
- Develop strategies for optimization and continuous improvement of pipeline integrity systems while controlling costs
- Developing standards and specifications for corrosion control
- Liaise between jurisdictional regulators and Operations teams
- Maintain and monitor compliance with provincial pipeline regulations
- Communicate changes in pipeline legislation to Operations as required
- Regular and timely visits to the field as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering technology diploma is required
- NACE Internal Corrosion Specialist certification would be an asset
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role or 5 years pipeline related experience is required
- Working knowledge of pipeline regulations, standards and applicable codes is required
- Knowledge in CSA codes, Pipeline Act and familiarity of the ECON, AER,MIEM and NEB pipeline regulations and directives is required
- Knowledge of pipeline integrity management inspection and monitoring techniques would be an asset
- An understanding of pipeline construction and operation would be an asset
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple demands with high attention to detail is required
- Strong technical skills with the ability to work at both the field and corporate level
- Team player who enjoys learning and contributing to team goals
