As a member of the Bird Construction Team,

the Accounting Administrator will support the District Finance group, Project Managers and Coordinators with timely and accurate project cost entry and reporting.

Responsibilities include:

- Review, organize and process purchase orders and supplier invoices for approval and payment
- Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and follow up on large variances
- Prepare batches and complete data entry including coding and scanning
- Follow up on older open purchase orders and invoices that have not been approved
- File paid and unpaid vendor invoices
- Complete credit applications when required
- Coordinate cheque requests for payment
- Review and prepare breakdowns for larger supplier invoices and credit cards
- Reconcile vendor account statements
- Process and enter hourly employee time sheets
- Prepare payroll information for the construction division every two weeks
- Prepare, submit and follow-up with subtrades for executed contracts, insurances, and bonds as requested
- Other duties as assigned


- Post-secondary educational background in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the construction industry, project-based environment or similar accounts payable role is required
- Strong computer skills in such areas as Microsoft Office (Word and especially Excel)
- Knowledge of other software applications such as Viewpoint would be an asset

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to re-prioritize tasks to meet deadlines is required
